Keys To Success

Achieving Success in Life

“When Curt suggested I needed to be intentional about growing, I had thousands of reasons not to do it. I didn’t have the time, the money, the experience, and so on. I had only one reason to do it.”
I believed I should do it because I hoped it would make a difference.

– John C Maxwell – “The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth

Success is a subjective concept that means different things to different people. While the definition of success may vary, certain key principles can help you achieve success in life. Here are some tips to guide you on your Path Of Success:

1. Become Willing

The first step to daily satisfaction and a bright future is to become willing. “OH, but become willing to do what?” Here are a few tips:

  • Admit that you may not know everything, and you may need to make space to find out what you don’t know. This is one of the key leadership concepts, and it is essential to remember that leadership does not only pertain to the workplace. It is an exercise for all of life. And lest you go charging off to tell everyone else what to do, a great leader must learn to lead themself first and approach others with an inquiring mind about what is best for them, not yourself.
  • Grow in maturity and spirit. This is a constant lifetime battle as we are all wont to do what we want to do and not what is of necessity or required. It takes a lot of maturity to turn off the phone, game, sports, or whatever intrigues you and to turn to what is best for you, life, and others in that order but also holistically together. It is both a spiritual practice of the soul and a repetitive task of action.
  • Be Uncomfortable. Two aspects of becoming Willing can lead to discomfort. One is when a person has an introverted personality and is uncomfortable talking or reaching out to others. The other is the extroverted person who is not comfortable exercising restraint in social environments. In either case, to fully embrace your destiny, you may sometimes need to endure discomfort.
  • Just be Willing. If you have an open mind to listen and embrace the mystery and unknown roads of life, you will be successful.

2. Intentionality

In his book, “The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth,” John Maxwell identifies the First Law as Intentional. Maybe you have been accidentally successful over the years. Still, I can guarantee that if you take John’s 15 Laws seriously and begin investing in yourself, You will strap on a rocket booster of success and experience daily success. This is about a life-changing journey, not a one-time splat. Very few people will have a great golf or sports game on their first foray. It takes practice to discard old habits and embrace the new.

Success starts with setting clear and achievable goals. Take the time to identify what you truly want to accomplish and break it down into smaller, manageable steps. Having a clear direction will give you a sense of purpose and help you stay focused.

3. Develop a Growth Mindset

A growth mindset is a belief that your abilities and intelligence can be developed through dedication and hard work. Embrace challenges, learn from failures, and continuously seek opportunities for growth and improvement. With a growth mindset, you’ll be more resilient and open to new possibilities.

4. Take Action

Success requires action. Don’t just dream about your goals; take concrete steps towards achieving them. Break down your goals into actionable tasks and create a plan of action. Consistent effort and perseverance will lead you closer to your desired outcomes.

5. Cultivate a Positive Mindset

Your mindset plays a crucial role in your success. Cultivate a positive mindset by focusing on the good, practicing gratitude, and surrounding yourself with positive influences. A positive mindset will help you overcome obstacles and maintain a resilient attitude.

6. Learn from Others

Success leaves clues. Seek out mentors, role models, and successful individuals who have achieved what you aspire to. Learn from their experiences, study their strategies, and adapt them to suit your own journey. Networking and building relationships can also open doors to new opportunities.

Remember, success is not a destination but a journey. It requires continuous growth, adaptability, and perseverance. By setting clear goals, developing a growth mindset, taking action, cultivating a positive mindset, and learning from others, you’ll be well on your way to achieving success in life.
